Description

An informational tool to help Warfighters take their hearing health into their own hands. The app combines text with contextual demonstrations to provide knowledge and understanding of the dangers of auditory injury and what life could be like if proper precautions are not taken. The Warfighter can experience hearing loss and tinnitus through simulations before a permanent and progressive disability is acquired. When questions arise as to how well hearing protection devices (HPDs) are fitting, the HPD Check feature will allow the Warfighter to compare his/her current fit of HPDs in his/her own ears to examples of good fitting devices.

Support was provided by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) Program - http://www.onr.navy.mil

Wish more people knew

This app is both concise and comprehensive. Hearing loss simulator and Hearing Protection Fit test are a nice idea to include. In-text links are functioning. Can browse easily without feeling like I got lost in a maze. Wish more people knew—Unit Leaders should be sharing this with their folks!

Learned a lot!

The links to web pages alone are worth the price of admission!

Good info, dated design

The design and function of this app are reminiscent of 2011. All of the information is solid and beneficial but the presentation is awkward at best. The intext links to definitions are non-functional.
