New feature "Annotate Article" (Requires iOS5 or newer). This will allow you to mark up a page to help you study or change the content of an article to trick your friends when you realize you just lost a bet ;) Changes made will be saved locally and will NOT affect Wikipedia.
To annotate an article press the action button then chose Annotate Article. Once an article is in annotation mode, you can edit or highlight the text. When finished, press the save button to save a copy within your saved pages bookmarks.
Fixed a iOS6 bug where svg images weren't displayed in full screen.
This is probably the best Wikipedia app I've had on the different iDevices I've had. It looks great, has a few customization options and has the ability to save things to view if you're offline.
The only real things I'd think to add would be an easier to view wikipedia's main page (you have to do a search for it then bookmark it. Not a huge issue but sometimes you'll find an article on there that'll catch your attention.). The other is to at least have an option to show the various lists that articles use in a format that separates the items into rows and columns of boxes. Most article it's fairly easy to see where everything lines up but if there a number of different size boxes it can be an issue trying to get the info you're looking for.
I paid for & downloaded. I opened the app. When I touch the screen the app closes. I deleted. I downloaded again. App still shuts down when I attempt to use it. HELP
Well I went back & read the reviews. I should have done that before I made the purchase. I notice the same problem I've experienced is being mentioned in a few of the reviews and it seems to be associated with 'it's not compatible with iOS 8'. Apple should remove apps that don't update to stay current with their iOS. How would they know? They now know because of this review. The developers haven't updated since 2012. When Apple sends me a receipt I'll be reporting a problem & expecting a refund
The best so far
Using Wikipedia all the time, I've tried out all the readers. At various times, one or another takes the lead as the best. In my opinion, WikiView is the best Wikipedia reader available for the iPad, now or ever (so far). It looks great and has a bunch of thoughtful features that others lack. This one goes in the "tray" at the bottom of the home screen.
