Horrible experience!

I bought this subscription as a gift and intended to use it for 3 months (3 deliveries) however this service is designed to lock you in and makes it nearly impossible to cancel. The website specifically does not allow you to cancel your subscription online (which is absolutely ridiculous) so I emailed support three separate times (without response other than automated replies), initially politely requesting, to finally angrily demanding that they cancel my subscription and STOP automatically deducting funds from my account and shipping the packages. Despite these facts the subscription continued. Finally after seeing yet another charge to my bank account from Winc I called and spoke to a representative who explained to me that they had indeed received all of my emails and (regardless of my discontent and demanding that they do not charge me another cent) that their policy only allows you to cancel by calling and telling them in person (nowhere on their website do they tell you this btw.) Felt very used and left with the feeling that they hope you’ll just give up/forget and they can continue to auto charge you month after month making it as difficult as possible to cancel, even though there’s “no commitment” and you can “cancel anytime”

Don’t Bother

My problem isn’t with this app, it’s with the company.

I signed up as part of a promotion. I received four bottles of wine. The two I tried ended up poured down the drain. I haven’t been brave enough to try the other two yet.

I skipped the next two months. On the second month that I skipped, Winc charged my Paypal account. I searched their website for an email address, but you can only contact them by phone or Facebook Messenger.

After going back and forth on Facebook I finally gave up, said I would take the shipment of wine, and asked the rep to cancel my subscription. Then we had to go back and forth a few more times before the subscription was deactivated.

Someone 21+ needs to be home to accept the delivery. That didn’t happen and I wasn’t able to pick it up from Fed Ex, so my wine was returned. I went back to Facebook Messenger to request a refund (this didn’t automatically happen when my package came back to them). Back and forth a couple of times ends with me paying a $20 restocking fee! $20! For them to put three wine bottles that I didn’t want in the first place back on the shelves.

I wish I had never signed up for the promotion. The good deal wasn’t worth all the hassle and now I’m out another $20.

My advice? Skip this one!

Product Never Received

This company needs a LOT of work. I heard rave reviews from co-workers, signed up under their suggestion - huge mistake!

Order #1: The first order I placed was never received and no one from the company contacted me to let me know. I tracked the package for almost a week (it was coming from PA, I live in NYC) and all the app, through FedEx told me was that a label had been created. I called emailed Winc and they told me that the package was lost, and that they would send me a new on set of wines - but oh wait - one of the reds i ordered was out of stock and the “recommended replacement was $3 more which would be applied as an “account credit.” I honestly believe that Winc should have covered the $3 because it’s their company this service is their product. But fine. Order #1 never received and Order #2 is placed.

Order #2 is also YET to be received. So now we are going on 2 weeks, and this order can’t even be tracked because a tracking number has not been generated.

Suffice it to say, I cancelled my subscription before ever receiving a box of wine. It’s a shame too, because their app is very nice, and user friendly. It’s just too bad that their company doesn’t actually deliver.
