Great, great app
I could’ve sworn I already reviewed this but I guess I didn’t. I did, however, send a friend an email recommending that he try it. And he did. And he loved it.
I’ve been using this app for several months now and it’s become indispensable to me. Most frequently I use it to put my RSS reader app on the left side and my browser on the right, but that’s only one of an infinite number of situations where this app can come in handy. You can put a window in any of 7 orderly configurations (1/4 screen at corners, 1/2 screen at sides, full screen by dragging to top) with a simple drag-and-drop. (Hotkeys offer even more options but I haven’t needed to learn them.) It’s reliable and stable, and the developer updates it as needed, for new OS releases and so forth. Any Mac user beyond the bare-bones beginner should find this app more than worthwhile.
will not snap easily
Been messing with this app for a day now and have been unsuccessful getting it to do anything except 2 windows. At first there was no icon they speak of. That didnt show until i restarted the computer. I have tried different finger combo’s, you name it. Just really doesnt work smoothly or fast. I feel we should not have to pay for something that a computer should automatically be able to do….easily. Then to have to pay $5 for it as well. Even if the app works a couple bucks should do it. Oh well, 4 hours & $5 wasted. There needs to be a way we can try apps, maybe a timer that when it reaches zero you can decide to purchase or not. I am running a brand new macbook pro with yosemite, so that may be the issue. oh yeah, the top of this review states “if you need support please visit window magnet support. Guess what happened when i clicked on it? Nothing, went to the app ad. Has some websites you could go to………but i’m gonna just delete since it was not linked. After wasting 2-3 hours, I’m done.
Apple shoud have this, but its less than a buck, and it’s great!
I cannot believe the simplicity of this application; coming from the PC world with Win7 having this feature built-in, Apple should have done this. It certainly imroves productivity and utility of dealing with comparisons in open windows. It is an improvement over the MS feature, too, because it can be customized to whatever the user wants / desires: 1/2 screen, any quadrant, any side, up, down and with configurable short-cut keys, this “Window Magnet App" simply is too cool!
Window Magnet: A wonderful utility with extreme bang for the buck.
