Good Wine App
Clearly, some good thought went into this app. The features that you would logically want to use are present. You can filter your searches by varietal, winery name and hours. Very handy. It would be nice to be able to bookmark and keep notes.
It will also give you distances and directions to the wineries. But, they are using Apple maps on IOS. You probably know what that means. In obscure country areas where wineries tend to exist, Apple maps are often confused. It mis-directed us numerous times. We had to utilize other mapping apps to successfully locate our destination.
Still, a good app to have!
OK-we found ourselves lost in the Walla Walla wine country. I know--poor us. And, my wife remembered seeing an ad for the Wine Tour app. So, we just downloaded it, and found ourselves (well, located ourselves, I should say). Then we picked the wineries we wanted to "taste", and followed the turn by turn instructions and found every winery we wanted. The rest is kind of a blur, but the Wine Tour app kept us on course. Yay!
Far from comprehensive
I live at the edge of perhaps the finest Pinot growing region in the world. This app is missing half of the wineries in these 7 AVA's. If you travel here for Pinot tasting, as many do, don't rely on this app alone. Maybe next year.
