What's New in Version 1.13
- fixed iOS 9.0 support
Very poor control scheme
Man I really wanted to like this game but the virtual D-Pad doesn't register most of my commands. And the A and B buttons straight up stopped working at one point.
I see that the developer still updates this app from time to time so I truly hope they continue to tweak the controls. This is such a cool take on Breakout...please don't give up on the App Store Tribute Games!!
Incredible style, terrible controls
This is one of the few games that really truly GETS the NES style, both aesthetics and gameplay. I could really believe this was a lost NES port. However the control scheme is currently broken, as is my heart. Will revise my rating much higher if the controls are ever fixed.
iPad version seems broken
Completely broken on the iPad. Can't navigate menus, scaling is busted. I cry.
Old review below~~~
Man I love this game. Perfect visuals, perfect music, perfect evocation of a particular time in games. Rpg mechanics married with Breakout?? Yes, please, I'll take five.
The controls, though. I'd love to see them optimized for the iPhone. I instinctually tried to double tap the paddle to launch the ball when I first started. This game would be perfect if it had one-handed controls as an option.
Still highly recommended though!
