WNYC is the flagship public radio station of New York City. We produce a range of original and innovative programs and podcasts, including The Brian Lehrer Show, The Leonard Lopate Show, The Takeaway (a co-production with Public Radio International) and, from our newsroom, award-winning local and national reporting. Soundcheck, New Sounds and Spinning on Air feature exclusive performances from the new music scene, while Jonathan Schwartz is the voice of American standards.
We're also home to Radiolab, the Peabody Award-winning show that blurs the boundaries among science, philosophy and the human experience, and Freakonomics Radio, the popular podcast that explores "the hidden side of everything."
Other shows you'll find here include All Things Considered, Ask Me Another, Car Talk, Fishko Files, Food Fridays, Fresh Air, Here's the Thing With Alex Baldwin, Last Chance Foods, Morning Edition, Marketplace, Money Talking, Movie Date, New Tech City, On Being, On Point, Radio Rookies, Radiolab, Selected Shorts, Studio 360 , This American Life and The World.
WNYC is a listener-supported public radio station. Your financial support helps make possible our programming, broadcasting and digital innovation. You can find our donation form on the app menu.

What's New in Version 2.1.20
- Updated Feedback menu
If you want to share thoughts on the app, or issues you're encountering, you can use the feedback menu item in the app. We love to hear from you.
Others reviewers out there have said the same thing, but I wanted to add my own comments here in hopes that the content owners will see the large number of negative reviews and get the developer of this app to do something.
The content available with this app is amazing. The app itself looks good, but has a lot of issues. The most irritating of these issues is that it crashes constantly, or just stops playing and you have to drag it out of your pocket every five minutes and fiddle with it to get it to play.
Also, saving content for later listening is really irritating. You have to click to "show more" a hundred times if you're trying to listen to old podcasts, and when you actually listen to saved content it doesn't move it to a "listened to" section when you're done so whenever you finish a saved show it just starts right up again listening to the first show on your list (or something else random that you've already listened to)
WNYC, get your developers to fix this app please!!!
Pretty Please with sugar on top: fix!
Against all logic I use this app every day. I love the content, but the app is absolutely infuriating. I finally had to come leave a review because it failed as I tried to restart On the Media....again. I want to be able to scroll to fast forward or rewind. I want it to play when I want it to play. I want the click thru to work when I'm trying to get to a program. I WANT THIS App. Please stop this abusive relationship and fix it. I thank you ahead of time for fixing this app. Please god fix this app! And also, could you please fix this app?
Excellent Content, Intermittent Dropouts
I love WNYC and am a monthly contributor. The programming is fantastic and I listen through this app daily.
My only complaint with the app is that it drops out sporadically (whether I'm connected via wifi or 4G). Sometimes this happens hourly, sometimes more frequently. Whenever the signal drops out, one is required to restart the app and (usually) listen to the sponsors again. A minor inconvenience, but it happens often enough that I hope some improvements can be made.
