Best App for iOS

Update: Just heard the news that Apple has acquired Workflow and the Workflow team will be joining Apple. Couldn't be happier as a user of Apple products and Workflow. Very happy for the Workflow team as well. Much deserved. I can't wait to see what they're able to do next and the impact it will have on iOS and maybe even macOS (fingers crossed).

Workflow is by far the best/most useful app on the App Store. The possibilities of what you can automate with it are only limited by 1)Apple's restrictions (wish they'd open up more for apps like Workflow), 2) your imagination, and 3) how well you understand how to use Workflow. Nothing you or the dev can do about 1 and 2. To learn more about how to use Workflow I highly recommend going to the developers website and going through the 'Docs' section. Lots of good resources there to help you learn. If you haven't tried Workflow out yet, do yourself a favor and download it. You will wonder how you used your iOS devices without it.

You'll Know Why Apple Bought It...

Workflow opens up some of the functionality in iOS in a friendly and intuitive way. Before you declare me crazy, let me offer a disclaimer: if you're not the type who understands some programming logic, or feel you're not able to adjust to that way of thinking, you'll get nowhere with Workflow. No matter how hard anyone tries, they can't teach the concepts within to someone who doesn't want to learn them or can't adjust to them. Save yourself some time and skip it if you feel you fit into that category. For everyone else: it's simply great. Apart from a few crashes here and there, I can't recommend it enough. The app put a smile on my face when I completed a workflow to remind me periodically about refilling my prescriptions - all based on context. I haven't had that type of experience with an app in a long time.

It's like VBA or JavaScript for iOS

Amazing, amazing, amazing... I didn't get to use the app before Apple acquired the company and removed powerful features so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I do wish they add more compatibility with other apps and being able to run workflows within another app after you open it.

All in all this is like VBA's for Microsoft or Java for PDFs, this simplifies redundant habits we have created over the years and bridges the gap between essential apps we have grown accustom to.

A few ideas I have created: a prompt to ask if I want to take a pic, video, or pre existing photo and turn it into a gif.

A workflow to notify me how long it will take me to get home from current position and prompt me if I would like directions home or not.

Lastly I created a workflow when pressed it will display my top 5 bands and depending who I click on it will display their songs.

Almost limitless on what you can do... love it.
