Finally, a travel app worth downloading
As someone who loves reading travel magazines and travel books, I was excited to see that iTunes had a Travel category in the app store... until I actually started browsing the apps and found nothing of interest. So I am thrilled to have finally found an app that has broad appeal as a travel almanac. Just a taste of information about each country: what are the highlights, best times to visit, any concerns for safety/water, etc. Simple and easy to digest. Good look. The picture for each country cannot be enlarged... would love to see a few pics from each country. But overall, just the travel app I was looking for. Thanks!
Exactly what I wanted
I was looking for something exactly like this. It works fine, has a lot of info for every country, and I have yet to find any factual errors. I can't see where anyone could get a 1 star rating from. Perhaps if this type of stuff does not interest you, then that is understandable, but it truly has no problems. If anything were to be added, it would be nice if there were pictures of the countries. Included is a map and the flag as visuals for each country, and a small thumbnail type picture at the top, but no true full pictures you can view. Adding that would add to the app greatly.
A huge disappointment
I bought this ad because it was featured as a "staff favorite", had some good reviews and a professional-looking icon, plus the concept seemed good. What a huge disappointment. There's really nothing to this app. A couple of stock lines about cities and countries, some useless tips and pictures of flags. The maps are just very basic pictures of the countries with the major cities indicated. You can only zoom in a small amount and doing so doesn't give you any more detail. It's not even worth 99-cents. I take that back, it's not even worth free. Save yourself some money (and the disappointment) and buy a Wikipedia browsing app like iPediea. At least then you'll be getting something for your money.
