Ratings and Reviews
I’ve rated you a 1 Star because I can’t even watch your league’s contests on your own app, like I have faithfully and dedicatedly been for years. Do you think every passionate surfer has or wants a Facebook account? Let alone wants to download the Facebook app on their smart devices? This is beyond ridiculous. You’re trying to force your viewers into a social media platform that is completely unrelated to the sport, let alone a platform that has in the past compromised their users’ personal information. I would love nothing more than to watch this entire contest, see Parko retire his jersey, and see the best surfers in the world shred one of the best waves in the planet. But I will not be watching any of the J-Bay contest, nor any future contest that streams on Facebook. I am beyond disappointed with the WSL and this change. You have one less fan in the books. I’ll be watching re-runs of Friends instead with my girlfriend and her Australian Sheppard dog Kirby. Season 4, maybe even season 5. Yeah, it’s gotten to that point without J-Bay in my life. But I stick to my guns.
I’ve never written a review of an app before and this is the first because I’ve never felt so disappointed about an app. Does it function? Probably... but I’ll never know. I will be be boycotting the WSL until it starts respecting its current fan base rather than its investors.
I understand times change, things evolve, artificial waves are on tour. Ok! I could always opt out of watching if I didn’t like the event. But now, by obligating us to download the Facebook app to watch live competition has gone too far. You’ve got investors who want to sell data to turn a profit, well OK, but not through FB. I will not be strong armed into downloading an app. I’ll pay a subscription before I’m forced to download FB. It’s worth 20 bucks a season to watch live events. There you go, revenue!
Just one more sign the WSL has lost its way. So much for professional surfing.
Finally heat recaps that doesn’t show scores!!!
Can’t tell you how stoked I am about this!!! Obviously I would rather be able to watch live but something my lame life gets in the way and I like sleeping. I literally don’t check my social media account in order to not spoil the winners, personally I prefer it and makes it more exciting. Next is full heat recaps after quarters!!! Right?! Lol
Thanks WSL for listening to the fans continually improving your product and brand! But most of all thanks for not making look at unread messages from my ex’s by signing into Fakebook
