worse than useless
We tried this to make writing practice more interesting for my child, who loves the computer. He ended up being frustrated and saying "take this off my computer."
It doesn't remember settings. You have to choose the language (US or British English), then go into a settings menu to change the default input method. Every. Time. You. Use. The. Program. (It defaults to trackpad, but he's using a tablet for a more realistic writing experience). He's bright and computer literate, but having to go through the setup process is frustrating even for me (the visual feedback for the settings is poor, and the interface violates basic principles of good HI design). There is no way he would ever use the program on his own, and there are several far more complex programs that he navigates with ease.
Even after going through the tedious setup process, the program frequently crashes. The, guess what? You have to repeat the whole setup mess.
