Move your Final Cut Pro X projects to the audio suite simply and quickly. X2Pro Audio Convert takes your FCP X XML and creates an AAF with embedded or referenced audio media which Avid Pro Tools can open as a session, delivering seamless integration between the two applications..

The AAF has also been successfully imported into Steinberg Nuendo, Merging Technologies Pyramix and Apple Logic Pro X.

X2Pro Audio Convert is a cutting edge conversion application for delivering FCP X projects for audio finishing, it is easy to use directly from within FCP X.

Taking advantage of the innovative Roles features in FCP X, X2Pro allows you to choose how these are converted to tracks; their order, packing and whether they are included, allowing sound designers to start working immediately.

Media can be embedded in the AAF (and trimmed with handles to minimise file size) to create a single, simple to transfer, file. Alternatively the AAF can reference external media which is ideal when FCP X and ProTools have access to the same shared storage.

Those who do not need the advanced functions of referenced, trimmed media, or close control of the conversion of Roles, can look at the cost effective X2ProLE.

X2Pro faithfully translates your audio timeline along with L-cuts, J-cuts, transitions, levels, automatic gain and fade handles, as well as the incredibly powerful FCP X compound clips. Transitions are converted into linear cross fades. Audio media can be any QuickTime supported audio, non-PCM audio is converted to PCM at either 16 or 24 bit.

R3D media is supported.

Multicam Clips are effectively translated taking across the audio of the selected angle.

X2Pro gives a clear warning when it comes across elements of a sequence which it cannot translate such as time maps and effects.

We recommend rendering an off-line or proxy version of the flattened video and exporting that if a reference is needed within Pro Tools. Only audio media is translated by X2Pro.

• FCP X, 10.0.4 or later and XML from 1.1
• X2Pro runs on OS X El Capitan (10.11) and later
• Pro Tools v7.0 or later for AAF import (not LE versions, v7 and v8 require Digitranslator for AAF import)

X2Pro uses Marquis Media Highway technology to integrate FCP X into the established professional audio workflow. Rip off

Exported my timeline as an AAF and opened in Pro Tools with my editor. Not only were the files a mess, nothing was in their correct roles. My music, for example is all meticulously organized as music roles, however it converted them to dialogue roles. How can this even happen?

Total rip off, there’s nothing in troubleshooting that will solve the very basic function of the app, which is to export an AAF accurately. It was referenceing the wrong files in the wrong places, fades didn’t translate (as promised), roles were all over the place. I will be writing to apple to demand a refund. Not good guys. Not even close.

Doesnt Work

I spend $150 on this and it doesn’t work. It can’t open the FCP XMP file, but no where does it list any trouble shooting options for figuring out how to solve the issue. The project file exports an regular audion track no problem. There isn’t a call number, only a foum that hasn’t been updated. Meanwhile I have deadline that is coming up. Very disappointed.

AFF Output Only For ProTools...

Yale University DMCA

Yes, I know it is clear in the description that ProTools is required … but I had hoped that the AFF output would be an actual AFF file … as in the *standard* that was developed for project interchange between platforms.

But this is a ProTools specific file. Sad, because there would be a bigger market for moving FCP X projects to more accessable DAWs like Logic or Nuendo… though ProTools is *very* accessable these days!

Update : TYhe devs responded imediately to this review. That's a *great* sign … seems the AFF produced with this app does meets the 'standard', but there might be other issues at play for aleternate DAW's. However the devs seem willing to work to solve incompatibilites and I have high hopes.

Update: Spent a bit of time today importing AAF's into ProTools 10. Worked well for my purposes. All the audio is there, in sync and editable. For FCP X users this is HUGE.
Four stars for undertaking the project and making it work … Five for spreading the love to Loguc, Nuendo and betond…

Update : the web site has a poll for additional DAW support! Good sign … I know if won't be that hard to implement basic exchange to Logic/Nuendo. Just have to save the AFF and Media as unembedded ie seperate. Devs … Please?
