Tons of potential to compete..
One of the deepest music libraries you can find. Rivals or beats many other music streaming services. However, unfortunately, the iPhone App is not great. The functionality and user friendliness is just not there. You cannot fast forward or rewind within individual tracks, the search option doesn't always return results it should (ie music hay exists within the Xbox Music library but is sorted poorly or just simply doesn't show up with certain search perimeters that should cause it to display), pausing then putting your phone to sleep causes tracks to reset (and again, you can't fast forward to pick up where you left off), etc.
No problems logging in as I've read in other reviews though.
Hopefully Microsoft gives this product the nurturing it deserves as they focus on becoming "cross platform." It has potential, but unless you own an Xbox One (which is the device I personally primarily use this service on), I can't recommend buying a subscription.
Inexpensive, multiple devices simultaneously
Xbox music is wonderful. With the sales they do it ends up much cheaper than the other services cheapest I have had is $34/yr with recent sale, and most I have paid is $50/yr. Buy it at Christmas on the Microsoft store online for best deals other than that recent pi day sale for $34. You can stack up to 3 years. Works on our numerous iPhones, nexus devices, windows laptops and Xbox ones. We can have 4 devices (I think) download for offline and seems to be an unlimited # of devices connected to the account for streaming. They have a great collection of songs as well. App is initially a little confusing but once you figure it out it works great.
I don't get how you can charge the same as your competitors and push out such a crappy app on platforms outer than your own. The reason I even got this was cause it was just so amazing on the Windows 8 PC platform (had free two year premium for some reason which I have forgotten...) and thought I would just purchase to use it on my iPhone. So many features are lacking. Most importantly no seeking???... Really?... Also I notice that the libraries act very weird with some albums, with some songs in my collection and not, a few duplicates will show up. And also the time resetting when you pause and sleep is also very annoying... And i am not sure if I just don't know how to use this feature or not... But where's choosing to play music offline?...
I do very much love the service, that I give a 5/5 but the app for iPhone, not so much...
