What's New in Version 1.20.0
It Needs TONS of Work
UPDATE (May 12, 2014): Downgraded again - if there were -1 stars, I would apply it. This app is down too often.
UPDATE (May 7, 2014): I rated this a 3 star in my original review. I've now downgraded it to 2 star because in the last few days the app data is "unavailable" for the tv listings. It appears Comcast doesn't care about the ratings for this app because the functionality goes from bad to worse, and updates are few and far between. The updates that do occur do not fix known problems.
ORIGINAL: Crashes when searching for specific channels - sometimes you can search for one or two channels, then the third crashes the app; sometimes crashes on the first search; double types the first letter when using search to locate a show; even though this app was updated, the same problems exist in the new version.
As a search for what's on TV, it's a good app. I wish it had an option for reminders for favorite shows. Unfortunately, it's the only app for Comcast TV line-up.
Not perfect but definitely a good app.
Works fine for me, virtually all complaints I saw I would say user error or your Internet is to slow. I have an average of 100Mbps download and about 60Mbps upload with 19 Ms ping. I've never tried it on the ancient Scientific Atlanta boxes or the small DTAs, but it did work on the RNG200, I recently decided to change to the X1 box is VERY responsive.
BTW make sure your STB Is connected to your X1 Modem/Router. The SB6121 has the tech which enhances the connection. If reaction is slow check ur ping time. There customer service has always been great until lately, for that minus one star.
HORRIBLE INACCESSIBLE app!!
This app does not play nice with VoiceOver! Although, most elements are labeled, which is great, the program list seems to be completely graphical, pictures of the text names, rather than real text that can be read by text-to-voice. I went through the runaround of tech support having me uninstall and reinstall the app, because that is the beginning of the script that they must follow no matter what the problem. I wonder if the database containing program listings is managed by Comcast/Xfinity, or if all apps grab info from one central database. It seems that this issue exists with other apps that purport to show program listings. Also, it should be possible to turn on the SAP channel from the remote app, as closed captioning is available. For those of us who have visual impairments, or are totally blind, (yes, blind people also watch TV), we need access to the Descriptive Video.
