X1 customers! We've brought the voice control, directional (up, down, left, right) pad, and keypad features from the X1 Remote app over to TV Remote. Go ahead, ask your TV to watch a specific channel, find an actor or movie, get stats for your favorite player, and more. Whether you're searching by voice, navigating through menus on screen with the directional pad, or tuning by number, everything is designed with accessibility in mind. Still doesn't work, now more features gone
What bonehead removed the ability to direct tune or go to a specific channel in the listings (evidently if you gave in to the X1 facade the mic button has a direct dial capability, according to another reviewer). This app is as broken as their web version of the TV listings which can't even be used anymore because it's so hosed up. The latest version still crashes if you lock and unlock device without specifically closing this app. Still doesn't show corresponding HD channel in listing details so I have to go hunt for the same show on a different channel (and there's no shortcut for doing that). The search doesn't show the results that can be tuned without additional button/tab pushes (if I'm searching for something the next thing I want to do is tune it in, not read a description). Still can't filter the on demand list like you used to be able to (like for "FREE" stuff within the service I already pay for). Also can't scroll while listing details are open. Maybe someday they'll get the basics figured out (like a schedule reminder on their X1 abomination).
Recent changes have made the app worse!
Why are updates made to apps? Case in point, this xfinity app. Previously one could open the channel listings and choose a station by typing in the number vs. scrolling to the station. I like to record on station #s in the 800 and 900s in my system. I can no longer type in the # and must scroll through the numbers, which is a pain. Also, when selecting a show to record, there used to be a red ball on the specific listing after I set it up to be recorded. Now, when I choose to record a show, there is no more red ball on the show I just programmed. Why was this removed? What was the point of these changes? To make it harder to use the app? I know these are "first world problems". But, don't make changes just to make changes. Please bring these features back!
It needs a LOT of work!
I really loved this when I first got it! I could look up what shows were on and change the station right from my phone, even if my husband had the actual remote & it drove him nuts! But after an update, I noticed that I couldn't change the station with my phone anymore, so I deleted it. A few days later I decided to try it give it another try. It worked just as well as it did the first time....for 2 days, then I had the exact same problem AGAIN! The only way I can get this to work is to keep deleting it & reinstalling it, which is extremely frustrating and time consuming!
I've found that when it stops working, it tells me that I don't have any connected devices, yet it doesn't give me any way to reconnect my device, other than deleting it and starting over. Can you guys PLEASE fix this?!?!!!
