Fight your way through the Mayan Underworld in this retro First Person Shooter. The path leads you through lush jungles, eerie catacombs and high tech bases filled with dangerous creatures, traps, vital powerups and weapons.
The intuitive and precise controls provide an amazing gaming experience while the dark ambient soundtrack and high quality sound effects build a dense atmosphere.
The game features 6 different levels, 3 weapons, 6 types of enemies and an epic boss battle. And if that isn't enough, you can test your skill with the even more challenging "hard mode".
What's New in Version 1.2
Better controls: Allows turning while shooting.
Please, please, PLEASE, make another one!
I should probably start off by saying I've never played Doom before, to which Xibalba is often compared: the closest I've played to that is Chex Quest back in the 90's. But with this game, it doesn't matter. The controls are easy to pick up (though granted, you may have to train yourself to not touch your gun while turning, or you end up wasting ammo) and the classically rendered 8 bit graphics filled me with waves of nostalgia! The enemies are dangerous enough to provide a challenge, but not so much that you want to slam your phone on the floor (I'm looking at you, Dark Souls!). Overall, it's just a blast to play!
Now, here are the issues with it: at only 6 levels, it's really short. You could probably finish it within an hour, maybe an hour and a half. And while the enemies are good, there's not all that many of them. Still, it's definitely worth a play through. Please make another one!
The visuals are fantastic, the gameplay is amazing, and the atmosphere is creepy but extremely attractive. You just want to keep playing it. The game is so fluid and enjoyable. It never stutters. It is very similar to that of the early games of Doom , Duke Nukem, and Wolfenstein. The game is honestly such a refresher after playing all these static FPS or other sorts of over used games. It can induce a headache after a bit of play, but that's a trade off you face for this wonderful game with classic styling. I am well impressed with how well this works. My only complaint is due to the control scheme, I find myself accidentally firing when I try to turn sometimes. It really isn't much of a problem and is very avoidable, as long as you keep an eye where your thumb is moving. Note tbat I'm playing on a iPhone 5C with the latest iOS update so experiences may differ.
What an exciting extravaganza!
This is one of the greatest games I've ever played on IOS. The visuals and the gameplay are the most things I've ever laid my eyes on. The controls and the enemies are fresh, new and very entertaining. When I beat the game, I got upset because I felt like it should have been longer. But nonetheless this game gets its 5 stars. The creators should be proud of themselves for this brilliant master piece. It takes me back to the wonderful days of Doom and Duke Nukem. It makes me so happy to know that I can play an original game on my iPad. The only problem this game has is that you accidentally fire off your weapon when you turn at times. But other we than that this game is amazing. I seriously hope you guys come out with another game like this.
