Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Read xkcd comics (http://xkcd.com). Faster to load than the website, easier to navigate, and you can read the alt text (touch and hold)!
What's New in Version 3.1
Now the app looks way better on modern iOS devices.
Latest version is inferior
This app certainly meets the requirements: you can download and view xkcd. However, the latest version is worse than previous versions. First, a "feature" was added to allow your u to swipe left out of comics. However, this just results in my swiping out of multi-line comics when I try to go to the next line. Second, the app has a great "random comic" feature, but now it moves you in the list of ~1600 comics to the comic you are viewing. Before the update, you stayed in the list wherever you were (which for me as at the top so I could check for new comics), which I liked much more.
With the latest update, I literally can't think of a single way this app could improve. It's fast and lightweight, you can cache comics to read later (even downloading the entire archive if you want), and you can search for comics by words in the title or even the body!
Definitely the best xkcd app out there.
this release seems like a downgrade
I saw the description of the new version released 2nd Nov 2015. I have one of the larger iPhones, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Zooming in on the comics now isn't so slick - scroll during zoom is disabled. Hopefully it's a bug, and an update is on its way.
Like I said in the subject: this release seems like a downgrade.
Fortunately I know how to downgrade to the previous release.
On the plus side: it's free and has no ads.
