A shadow on life support fading away!
This once glorious app and the service has not been updated in over 2 years! And all indications are that it is barely on life support as it stands. No idea what the future will be with this service. So as a result of the uncertainty I have not renewed my bundled subscription with LastPass that I had paid for previously, and only renewed LastPass individually. Frustratingly the app has never been optimized for the 6, 6 plus, 6s, 6s plus, 7 and 7 plus where the displayed app looses all the advantage of the resolution gained on these newer devices. I am not even going to discuss the lack of effective synchronization with the desktop counterparts as that has been barely a shadow of what it previously was. A tragedy to say the least abandoned apparently to the dustbin of history. Xmarks prove me wrong!
Syncs my iDevices and my PCs just fine !
These guys do a fine job of providing an app that lets you sync your bookmarks between your various devices. And the support is pretty responsive.
I have 4 PCs (XP, 2xW7, W8.1) which I have recently switched from Firefox to Chrome browsers, which has its own idios. And then there are 3 iPads & an iPhone, all running Safari.
Each hardware/software combo has its own issues, but Xmarks is on top of it. The free version only handles PCs. If you also want to sync with your iDevices, you need to ante up $12/year. BFD! I drink that much Malbec in a night.
It works ... Kinda
I haven't had any issues with the app crashing, but it seems it should be a simple matter to give the user the option of saving a bookmark from the browser of their choice - there just simply isn't that option. Right now the only way to add a bookmark from my iPhone is to copy and paste from the address bar- this seems less than ideal.
