The worst mail app ever developed

Over the years I have grown to loathe yahoo mail and actually all things yahoo. The mail app is virtually useless and if and when you'd like to change a setting in mail, I wish you luck in your search for the truth and light! You'll get stuck in lots of useless directions, all top heavy and time wasters, adding up to an app with no substance and all fluff. The reason gmail works well is that it's simple and easy to navigate. I've unfortunately been with yahoo for years and I've groaned under the thought of telling everyone I know that I have a new email. It's always so much harder than just exporting them to say gmail. But I'm so thoroughly disgusted with yahoo at this point that I'm just biting the bullet and moving over to gmail. If it's possible for an app to get worse even over a few days, leave it to yahoo to find a way. The new most annoying trait among so many is to tell you that you have mail when you don't. It will show however many messages you may have over the icon on your desktop and when you go to open it of course there isn't any new mail. The only reason I keep the worst email on the planet is because I have to until I buy a new computer and transfer everything to gmail.

Lots better app than hotmail

I have email accounts with both yahoo and hotmail. I have both apps on my iPad and much prefer the yahoo interface. That said, I think there is room for improvement. Although I can access all content in my mail folders (hotmail just lets you access mail you have put into folders with the app so you can't see anything you saved to folder from your PC--boo!) when I go down the list of folders, look at something and go out, I am thrown back to the top of the folder list, not where I was on the list. Have to scroll down again if I want to see if some directed mail is in the next folder. Not convenient. Finally, hotmail beats by showing new mail on the app icon. Not yahoo, have to open and look for new mail. Fix these things, yahoo, and you will be my only email provider!

It gets it done with most of the tools intact.

This is an excellent mail client, compared to many, many others offered in the app store. It's true to its online version, just is more compact and only a slight bit harder to wield. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like it's a hair's breadth from being amazing. But if you're away and need to be in that Yahoo! mailbox, don't you DARE load it into another client to use. Everything you need is already there. (I think. I'm pretty sure.) Visually the same as the online version, for those who regularly access Yahoo! mail online they won't feel uncomfortable or disoriented, or be looking for anything they'd use if they'd just signed on. Hair's breadth from perfect.
