I have to agree with most of the reviewers
I recently redownloaded the app from my purchase history in preparation for the upcoming fantasy football season, seen the 2-star average review rating and was a bit shocked, it used to be a good app. I downloaded it and now I get it, this update is pretty bad. As the commissioner of a league, I though I could just jump on the app and renew my league. If it was possible from the app, I had no idea how to do it--it appears that it there was an attempt to simplify the UI that ended leaving a long time user completely lost.
The app does not support landscape mode on my iPad Pro, and probably all iPads--used to, but not anymore. So don't plan on propping your iPad up to check your score during games or being able to set it down for a moment during an online draft, unless you have devised a way to prop it up vertically and be able to watch the screen while giving your hands a break, research the waivers, set league rules or anything table-top using a Smart Cover.
If you liked landscape mode and being able to locate settings and other things on the previous and vastly better Yahoo Fantasy app last season on your iPad, at least you can just use Safari to work off the Yahoo website instead and actually be able to do what you need and want to do more comfortably (not to mention more efficiently).
Come on guys, who approved of this update? I had no idea the app update changed EVERYTHING!!! Not only did you lock the screen so the app no longer rotates in any direction. Really, you thought that was a good idea and ignored the fact that different users may want to flip the app for their own preference?? Then, right as my draft starts, I realize I can no longer see the fan points scored from last year from each player, it was complicated to nominate a player , just accessing their stats was a pain, percentage owned was also missing as was projected points. Half the players didn't have any notes on whether they were questionable, probable or out. Another user mentioned that it feels outdated which is exactly what it seemed like as it is no longer user friendly. Not to mention that adding and dropping a player became even MORE difficult than it was last year. I prefer the yahoo league but the ESPN app is much more user friendly and easier to navigate. I felt like this app should have come with an instruction manual or a walk through!! Update to a better version soon or undo the update and restore the older version.
An Update Worthy Of Changing Sites
As a 10 year loyal Yahoo fantasy football user, I never thought the day would come when all 16 members of my league agreed on anything. Yahoo's new Fantasy Football app made us do just that. The recent update is easily the worst thing to happen to fantasy football since RBBC. It's a disaster on every level. For starters THERE IS NO MESSAGE BOARD. I repeat, THERE IS NOT A MESSAGE BOARD. These bafoons at Yahoo have taken the message board out of the app. How are 16 people supposed to talk smack and communicate without a message board? The interface is difficult to navigate and the lack of a message board has caused a deadline in my decade long yahoo league. If yahoo doesn't add the message board by our draft day we are switching. I advise all new leagues to use a different site than yahoo. How a group of people's could ruin an app and fantasy football in general so much in 1 update is mind-boggling, but Yahoo has with this app. It's a 1 star only because 0 star is not available.
