What people are saying
"By learning what you want via Search and offering up News items of your liking, Yahoo’s Mail app is almost the landing page for your iPhone or iPod. Coupled with their Weather app, Yahoo’s iOS offerings are about as good as it gets.” -- Nate Swanner, Slashgear

Everything I want in one app
For some reason somebody thought of a way to make a great app mediocre. In order to delete an email you have to either scroll all the way to the bottom of the email (a pain when some emails are very long with little or no new information) or you have to click on the box on the list to activate the trashcan. Either way, it is an extra annoying step that was added that takes my rating from five stars to three. IT IS THAT ANNOYING. The real shame is that this was THE BEST email app around. I will leave my original review for reference.
Other apps have a few features that I like, but this one has all of them in one app. I like having a trash can right on my email. I like being able to have my email fill the whole page, no matter what orientation I am using with my iPad. I like not having my emails truncated for whatever reason.
I had not used my Yahoo! Email for years. I read that they were going to start releasing the addresses of dormant accounts and thought, "Big deal. I don't use it anyway." When I got an email from Yahoo! telling me about the change and asking me to use the address if I wanted to keep it I was going to ignore it. Then I saw an ad for the app, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I liked what I saw and spent much of the afternoon changing my email address with every company I could think of. I also had my email forwarded from my previous server, so I could change addresses as new mail arrives.
Too many bugs in the user interface
I am deleting this app.
The straw that broke this camel's back is that the To: line is not accessible...I can't get the cursor there to insert names when I want to forward an email. (Is there a specific method that works? I indicated I wanted to Forward, then deleted identifying info of previous sender, and found I'd lost access to the To: line. To make it worse, that sits directly beneath the Cancel button. I hit that by accident enough times that this camel's back broke.)
As I write this review, though, the text of what I am writing is not scrolling properly... So I wonder if this is Apple's fault, not Yahoo's. The iPad keyboard is blocking my view and I am having to type blindly.
On the other hand, the Yahoo app has other defects in the user interface, as others have pointed out below. Most notable is relocating the email Delete button at the very bottom of an email and requiring opening a menu to choose it. It's as if Yahoo wants us to scroll through the contents of emails in opposition to our desire to delete at will using a convenient trash can icon at the top. I'm not buying it.
The latest July 13th update is poorly designed
I downloaded the App recently, so I could utilize my Yahoo mail on my iPad while away from my computer. It was actually pretty good; straightforward, simple, and user friendly. I logged on today, after the recent update (July 13th) and was disappointed to see a lot of this had been taken away from the App. It took a little while to figure out how to just be able to delete a simple email. You have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the email. The quick function buttons that used to be present are no longer there. I still don't see how to mark some emails as spam, now. I will probably just end up deleting the Yahoo mail App now and just use the web based version of your email. Very poor design upgrade. Not user friendly or intuitive, at all. Whoever thought this was an "upgrade" needs to be kicked square in the nuts.
