What people are saying
"By learning what you want via Search and offering up News items of your liking, Yahoo’s Mail app is almost the landing page for your iPhone or iPod. Coupled with their Weather app, Yahoo’s iOS offerings are about as good as it gets.” -- Nate Swanner, Slashgear

They're not joking…really, they’re ‘serious'

...but that doesn't prevent laughter. Co-opting the iPhone's sms tone for the Yahoo mail arrival signal is way below the threshold of incoherently-stupid. Unless I turn off all the app’s sound notifications, I’ve no idea whether an sms or an email has arrived. Now this no sound at all to notify me if an email has arrived. Yahoo: redefining lame, living up to the name!

I reluctantly downloaded it when I discovered that, due to gross malfunctioning of my ATT/Yahoo account (not the first time), I deleted it from my iPhone 5S and tried to reinstall it. NO DICE. The ATT/Yahoo merge has proved to be an increasingly-colossal disaster. Either Apple & I manage to restore the AT&T account to the native iOS email client (which up to now will not work), or, HELL-O-O-O Gmail, goodbye Yahoo. After great effort to avoid the considerable labor and risk of changing my primary email address, dumping ATT/Yahoo as my email provider is looking unavoidable. Their evolving incompetence is forcing my hand.

Apple needs to introduce a negative scale of stars to appropriately rate bumbling garbage like this app.

Really poor.

So Yahoo mail has gotten progressively worse over last few years and now it seems Yahoo is trying to get out of the mail business all together. Yahoo mails had started pushing very poorly to the iPad mail app. Many times showing phantom notifications that wouldn't pull up so I decided to download the actual Yahoo Mail app. It worked only slightly better. While I no longer see phantom notifications that won't pull up when launching the app, the Yahoo app crashes constantly. By constantly I mean... It won't open. At all. Ever. Yeah, a company the size of Yahoo shouldn't have problems like this that aren't caught in testing.

Finally, when it was working properly the layout and format was terrible and hard to read. Skip this app.

HAVE to get a new email address

Hounded by yahoo to get this stupid app for my iPhone, finally broke down and did it as it now barely works at all thru the already-installed email software, and wish I hadn't. It doesn't delete, constantly cycles and kills the battery, and now it doesn't work at all, just crashes over and over. I've only had it three days. Seriously. And the fact that you can't open links/docs/whatever in the browser or your choice, totally ridiculous! Yahoo doesn't need to own the login for every program and site I use! As for all those that say use another app, I say why should we have to?!? That's why I have an iPhone - the capability is already there, if the mail program actually worked correctly.
