Get in the know in no time.
Yahoo News Digest provides a definitive summary of all the important, need-to-know news. Digests are delivered twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. All the top stories are summarized and presented with the key information that you need to stay on top of what’s happening.
Each story is created from multiple sources to present the essential bits and pieces of information, known as “Atoms”. Atoms are key quotes, images, videos, stock tickers, maps, infographs, statistics, and Wikipedia excerpts among others. These atomic units provide a unique context to the news. Our stories are both algorithmically and hand curated to ensure high quality, and come with a textual summary.
Yahoo News Digest makes your reading experience comprehensive, effortless, and complete. Our goal is to fully inform you on all the key headlines of the day in a finite and visual manner.
We are committed to building the best mobile experience and are interested in your feedback.

What's New in Version 1.1
Thank you for using News Digest and continuing to give us feedback. We've worked hard over the last month and a half to bring you the following new features:
• UK localization and content!
• New 'Weather' atom
• New 'Statistics' atom
• "What You've Read" overview
• New sharing animation/function
• Ability to share Cover Posters
• Indication of digest completion
• Other bug fixes
The "What You've Read" overview is accessible from the 'DONE' section at the bottom of the digest and is calculated from v1.1 onward.
Beautiful, simple, elegant and very functional. Yahoo and Marissa Mayer clearly have a vision which is to make mobile connection to everything easy for everyone.
Yahoo News digest is very good. It is also a bit addictive which proves how well it is done. I do have a suggestion which would make it even better (and more successful). When you are finished with the seven or eight initial news items and get the cool circle of dots at the end and the "did you know" and then click for more news, if you were given a selection of categories of news it would be even more compelling and useful. For example: More Political News; More Sports News; MoreScience/Tech News; More Entertainment News; etc.. Then when you clicked on a given category you would get another list which interested you specifically rather then another generic list the way it is now. This would make a great app even better and more popular. I have noticed that the news items featured are quite often the same subjects that come up in conversation at work or parties and that's a very good sign for the thought given to this. Great job Ms. Mayer!
Great Successor to Summly
I was sad to see the app Summly leave the App Store when Yahoo! bought it, but I am very pleased with how Yahoo! has put it to good use. I like being able to see top stories at a glance and read more in depth if I want. I think the fact of the day bit is a nice touch and I like the option to read more news if I want. While this is a great app to start with, I hope Yahoo! begins to allow more customizability to better suit the user's tastes in news. I would like this app much better if I could choose news categories in addition to top stories or even create my own as I was able to with Summly. Overall, this is a great app that I use in conjunction with a few others to keep up with news and I'm looking forward to future updates.
A top-notch news app from Yahoo - iPad version, please!
I was intrigued when I heard that Yahoo was releasing a new news app for iOS, so I gave it a download. I am very happy with the app. The first thing you notice when you start browsing the news is the clean, beautiful interface. Once you enter a news story, it gives you a short-but-sweet summary of the topic, and provides several different forms of media - video clips, pictures, relevant Wikipedia articles, statistics, etc. to give the user more information. Whether you're heavily invested in the news story, you don't care, or you just want a summary, Yahoo has you covered.
All that is left now is to see the News Digest come to my iPad. Please develop an iPad version, yahoo.
