Sun Salutation or Surya Namaskar is a yoga technique to enhance physical mental and spiritual evolution. It is almost a complete yoga sadhana or spiritual practice in it self containing asanas pranayama and meditation techniques.
This app provides practitioners a step by step guidance for both beginners and advanced users. Users can practice this wonderful exercise with easy to navigate practice options. App also tracks the progress, which users can keep as log of their practice. App provides options to share their progress to facebook and twitter friends.
Surya Namaskar revitalizes the body and mind, it helps to eradicate disease. It loosens up all the joints and the muscles, massages the internal organs, activates the respiratory and circulatory systems.
There is no other exercise that can surpass Sun Salutation. Running, walking, swimming are excellent exercises, but they don't exercise the body as efficiently as Yoga Sun Salutation in short time.
Sun Salutation is more than a series of physical exercises. It also has depth and completeness of a spiritual practice which harmonizes whole body mind complex.
Please consult your physician or qualified yoga teacher before you start your practice. Always avoid strain, practice only to your capacity.

Great app for practicing surya namaskara
The app offers a number of different ways to practice the asanas, with great recordings from an experienced yoga teacher whose classes I've taken and enjoyed very much. Besides offering a standard practice at a moderate pace, there are special recordings for beginners and those who want a slower, more gentle asana practice. There is also the option to practice with the mantra instead of instructions, a nice option for those already familiar with the asanas. Optionally, you can end with a short guided relaxation / meditation at the end.
On top of all this, it keeps track of when you do surya namaskara and how many rounds you do each time. This is recorded in the log at the end of each practice.
Just what I need
I am a long time yoga practitioner who has had to forgo classes lately due to minor injuries and arthritis. These multi-level practices are just what I needed to gradually get me back. Instructions are well-paced and easy to follow. The video is just right and beach scene is perfect. I’ve had a hard time finding classes that can address the issues with my aging body, but the gentle routine is great for me. I cannot wait to progress through these.
Good, but with an important fix needed
There are lots of nice features to this app which make it customizable, and the video quality is fine for the practice of learning and practicing sun salutations.
However, I have to echo what a previous reviewer stated about the accuracy of the pose names. Down dog is called mountain pose and mountain pose at the end is called tree pose. The Sanskrit terms appear to be accurate, but the English subtitles are not. This mistake makes me a little skeptical regarding the chakra and mantra track accuracy.
