Description

Yoink simplifies and improves drag and drop between windows, apps, spaces and fullscreen apps.
The app has been repeatedly featured by on the Mac App Store in numerous categories and was recommended by John Gruber of DaringFireball and Federico Viticci of MacStories.

When you start dragging files in Finder or content from an application, Yoink fades in a tiny window at the edge of your screen so you can drag to it.
This frees up your mouse so you can comfortably navigate to the destination of the files and resume the drag from Yoink's window more comfortably.

What's New

Version 3.4.1

Thank you for your patience in waiting for this update. I'd like to apologize for the long wait - I got very side-tracked by some contract work and could only recently return to working on my own apps.

Improvements:
- Improved compatibility with Transmit - dragging files from the "local" side of the app to Yoink would result in the file being added twice
- Improved compatibility with Thunderbird - attachments now are accepted more readily
- Improved compatibility with Apple Mail - now properly supports multiple mails (thank you, Christopher Atlan)
- Improved compatibility with Apple Preview - dragging a not-yet-saved image from the thumbnails bar to Yoink now works
- Improved compatibility with Apple Photos - accepts photos more reliably
- Improved compatibility with Sketch - layers can now be inserted using Yoink
- Image files from a "promise drag" now have proper titles again
- When using a script to add files to Yoink, it's now positioned correctly in case the screen's resolution changed between now and Yoink's last use

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug where Yoink would stop working in some cases when dragging something off it
- Fixed a bug that prevented sharing from working
- Fixed wrongly framed PopClip button
- Fixed installation of the PopClip extension
- Fixed a tooltip for the PopClip Extension button
- Fixed a bug that sometimes kept wiggling lock icons from fading out
- Fixed a bug that caused Yoink to hang when deleting two files from Finder at once that resided in Yoink
- Fixed a rare crash when receiving "promised files"
- Fixed a rare issue that occurred when QuickLooking an already deleted file
- Fixed a typo in the German localization

"The app you never knew you needed until you can't live without it"

I love Eternal Storms software, and this app is no exception. Provides a much-needed missing function when working with lots of files scattered about in various places. It might seem like a small time saver, having to move, resize and mess around repositioning windows in Finder to organize files -- but multiply those wasted seconds over the course of days, weeks and years and it really adds up. The "Share" function is really useful as well. I see an iOS 11 version is right around the corner too, which I am looking forward to!

Best image utility ever used!

The Libra

As a long-time Mac user (since 1986) I have tried nearly every image utility app out there to help me get my job done. The apps I stick with are simple and perform exactly how you would expect. That is why I use Yoink. I use it dozens of times per day to share screen-shots with team members and between apps. It also has this amazing feature that allows you to move multiple images all at once with a single click. I’ve been using Yoink for years because it works! As a software product manager, Yoink is one of those “must have” apps that saves me time every single day.

Great app! Perfect name!

This works really well if you have a cluttered desktop and/or fullscreen apps open all the time like I do. It works well in any other situation, too. The name says it all where it “yoinks” almost any file to a position on your screen just waiting to be dragged elsewhere. The beauty of this app is that it frees your mouse for navigation. It also works across multiple, virtual screens (including fullscreen apps). I’ve read other reviews and believe that this is an app you never knew you needed until you use it and can’t live without it.
