About the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, comprising the de Young in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, are the largest public arts institution in San Francisco.
The de Young originated from the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition in Golden Gate Park and was established as the Memorial Museum in 1895. It was later renamed in honor of Michael H. de Young, who spearheaded its creation. The present copper-clad landmark building, designed by Herzog and de Meuron, opened in October 2005. It holds the institution’s significant collections of American painting, sculpture, and decorative arts from the seventeenth to the twenty-first centuries; art from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas; costume and textile arts; and international modern and contemporary art.

Ratings and Reviews
I really appreciate the app. The visuals are wonderful. I can preview exhibits easily and be aware of lectures and special events related to exhibit.
I wish there was a share option so I could easily invite friends to go with me in a visually satisfying and informative way.
Wow...this really made my summer of love visit special.
The best app for museum visiting ever.
I went to de young museum yesterday while I totally forgot that I have downloaded this APP the day before. So during the first hour I was just wondering around in those exhibition halls, looking at those artworks that I knew so little about, focusing on just the colour, light, composition etc., the normal aspects. Time passed very slowly and I got tired easily because of the enormous artworks that I was trying to see. I then sat on the bench in front of one painting to have a rest. And of cause I checked my phone. Then I saw this APP. Things totally changed afterwards. I was indulged in the highlight artworks this APP presented. I spent the rest 3 hours, appreciating just a dozen artworks, with the guidance of the narrators introducing the author, the background of the creation, stories behind and so on. Rather than look at all the artworks, this APP allows me to know deeper about what I have viewed and have a better understanding. further more, the GPS feature and the detailed 3D layout of the museum allows you to locate the artwork easily which is so thoughtful to those who have no sense of direction like myself.
I strongly recommend this APP to all visitors to de young museum. 5 stars!
I have downloaded all apps guidekick developed. And I will definitely use them soon.
