You Need To Go Back 20 Updates
I don't understand how you screwed this up so much. It was so much better like 20 updates ago. I would say update this to fix it but every update this app just gets worse, and worse, and worse so just stop updating this app entirely. I dont know why ANYONE would give this app anything but 1 star. Before these GOD AWEFUL updates the layout was great, the functionality was great, i could see all my subscriptions and their names on the side bar while watching a video, and people couldnt put another name of someone who already exists. After the update, i am having FAR more crashes than on almost ANY OTHER UPDATE! The functionality is horrible, the layout is horrible, the crashing is more constant, and i cant scroll through my subscriptions while watching a video anymore. I hope than a new app comes out like this one because i would gladly delete this app in a heart beat if it did. Maybe then you would listen to the reviews that you what to fix instead of making things that worked fine not work anymore and actually fix bugs. I dont know why someone said dont hate on change in another review but that makes no sense. Change isnt always good. In fact in most instances of updates for this app it is worse. Im hating on this change because it made me dread having to use this app. I would tell you to fix it. But you wont listen and you would just make it worse so just leave it as it is. Or go back 20 updates and NEVET make any updates again.
What's going on with your tech designers?
Really Google? Back in 2010, Steve Jobs introduced the iPad. He meant it to be special from the iPhone. The iPad has a much bigger screen. The last update was a great example of what you could do with iPad that you couldn't do on iPhone. This update is garbage! Red and White? That hurts my eyes in a way indescribable. Back to the UI. It is extremely hard to find your channels. It feels like work. In the last update, you had a sidebar that allowed you to scroll through all your subscriptions very easily. That's gone! Just like what Apple did to iTunes! Back to my question, what is wrong with the tech designers of today? Listen to your users, all we need is a nice but simple non bright-colored user interface that can be easily navigated. Today's tech designers who think that giant oversized smartphone apps on iPad look good should be fired on spot. I'm sorry but this app is really that bad! I bought my iPad so I could get high quality apps on a take-with-you platform. Not for oversized smartphone apps. This app will look like garbage on the iPad Pro which is going to go on sale in 30 days! Google, you need to step up and listen to your users!
Unnecessary redesign and no back button
Update 10/15: Well, they took away the back button which makes it easier to go immediately back to the last video you just watched. As you can tell from an earlier review they have it there for a short time and then took it away again. Now to go to the most recent viewed video you have to close down the one you're watching click over to history and try to find it there. Also, this new design makes it harder and takes longer to do the things you used to do in the app's most recent iteration. Google screws up again.
Update 11/14: They finally gave me back my 'Back' button! Huzzah! I can deal with the silly swipe down and away now that I can return to the previous video easily. Thanks, Google.
I've skipped every update to this app since they took away the simple 'back' button and implemented their idiotic swipe down and then swipe away design. C'mon, Google. I check back with each new update and read the reviews. It seems that they keep messing it up more and more. Oh well, I'll hold on to my old, old version until they get it right. At this rate, it's never going to be right.
