Bible Lens transforms your everyday photos into profound, Biblically-based artistic shareable images. Bible Lens lets you take a picture, or point to one you already have. It detects not only objects in your photo, but more importantly, the Biblical themes of the moment that photo captured… and then suggests Bible verses to match!
Bible Lens’ Discover feature auto-magically creates new Bible art from pictures you took 5 days ago… or 5 years ago. Discover finds the pictures in your camera roll with the greatest potential to become dazzling Verse Images. Then, it amazes you with special moments from your past, now revealed through the lens of God’s Word.
Just as with the photos you take using Bible Lens, Discover lets you experiment with colors, fonts, and more, saving your favorites and sharing to your heart’s content.
Bible Lens is from YouVersion, makers of the top-rated free Bible App and Bible App for Kids, installed on hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. The Bible App offers thousands of versions and languages, and the interactive stories and activities from Bible App for Kids are available in dozens of languages globally.

Potential social media? Maybe, but still a really great app
This app is the concept of creating images from Bible verses expanded upon. It’s unique and simple. I think it has potential and I think it should become more of a social app. With followers and things like that and you can save images that your friends made. The Discover page kind of seems like it’s trying to make random Bible verse images because I don’t have any followers yet but I don’t think that’s an option. It’s still a really great app, but I am excited to see where it goes. Also the Technology that takes the contents of your pictures and matches it up to a Bible verse is kind of incredible. I work really well and it made me laugh at some of the pictures they choose. I would definitely recommend this app if you find yourself using the YouVersion Bible app to make verse images.
Needs one modification to earn 5 stars
First of all I am completely amazed that an app on my phone can identify items in pictures. Linking Bible verses to subject matter in the picture is incredibly cool even if the app sometimes picks a background element instead of your subject matter.
The big problem for me is the lack of ability to choose individual pictures from my camera roll. The user interface gives you two options for applying the app: 1. Live photos as you take them or 2. A “discover” mode in which the app auto selects three pics from your camera roll.
1. As a photographer I always want to keep an original non modified pic as a backup before editing anything so the live mode is of very limited use.
2. I have over 1,000 pics in my camera roll but there are only around 10% of those I want to use Bible Lens on currently and the random discover mode has not picked any high priority ones. Giving the user a third option to choose which stored images to use would make this app infinitely more useful.
3. The app is not iPad friendly in the way pics are displayed. Any quality pics I want to edit, crop and/or fine tune I do on my iPad for the larger display. The app is functional on the iPad but viewing the results requires to drag each pic to the center of the view box to see all of it.
Very cool app that has the potential to be truly great!
Can’t stay off of it!!
I love this app and am on it almost all the time! Love the fonts and designs and how it allows you to choose photos from your phone, (the photos that you haven’t taken on the app). The reason why I gave it a four star instead of a five is because of the way I don’t have an option to search my own bible verses. I still like the suggested verses. I just think that it would be nice if I wasn’t obligated to use one of them. Another thing I would change is to have it more like a social media app like have friends or followers, and the followers being able to like and comment on them, but in a social media kind of way. Another thing I would love is to “verse GIFs”, like the same thing as verse images just with GIFs :) . But other than that I love it and would totally recommend this app!!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
