BEST GAME EVER!!! But...
Okay as I life-long Yu-Gi-Oh! fan I absolutely adore this game. The campaign is fun and the CPUs are challenging enough to be fun without being annoying. There is no better feeling than to be down in a duel and to draw that one card you need to mount an epic comeback. I love that essentially every card in the game is playable and I love just experimenting and having fun building new decks and trying them out. In my eyes, this game is a 5 star game... if it wasn't for the premium cards. Why must all of the cards that I want to play with the most be locked behind a price tag? This game would be so much better if I wasn't forced to pay for cards like Junk Synchron, or Red Eyes Black Dragon, or the Exodia cards. I understand that developers need to generate revenue, but there are simply way too many cards that need to be bought with real money. I think that a good alternative would be to give players the choice to buy packs with real money or with points collected from duels. Of course you'd raise the points price for the premium packs so that it take some time to grind enough points, but I think that would be a good solution. That way you still have people spending money who don't want to grind for the points, and you satisfy players like me who don't have the money to buy the premium cards they want to play with. Or at the very least unlock some of the premium cards and let them be available in the points packs.
Amazing game, but still many bugs to fix
The game is fun, and it reminds me of when Yu-Gi-Oh! Was huge and I was just a kid playing the card game..
Minutes ago after a super in depth battle against weevel, he activated his man eater bugs special effect, and I had a full field of monsters, the game didn't freeze or crash, it just sat there for an endless amount of time, I'm assuming the CPU was trying to determine what move would be best to make, but it was an endless loop of waiting. After 5-7 minutes of waiting, I called it quits and force closed the game unfortunately..
Perhaps you guys should implement a "start where you left off" or some type of auto save after every turn feature, for those of us that have to do something mid duel, or if the game ever crashes like that(from what I've read it crashes quite a bit). That way all the time we put into the duel (I was past my 20th turn with weevil he's annoying) wasn't for nothing, so we can continue right before the game bugged out.
Fun but could be way better
The game is a lot of fun, but there are a few issues with it that bug me. When you buy packs, you can get forbidden cards, but you can’t ever play with the forbidden cards, so why give them to us at all? Also, the CPUs can use the forbidden cards in their deck, which puts the game totally out of balance. Certain “premium” cards, of which there are many, cannot be received from the card packs, only bought (in $4.99 decks, which is too expensive to be worth buying). A better model would be to let us get those cards in normal packs, but speed up the card gathering by buying full decks, by buying duel points to spend on card packs, or by buying more individual card packs directly. I also wish you could replay the CPU battles to earn more duel points, but you can only progress forward, which I understand but dislike. There are also a lot of bugs with the dueling itself. Cards that shouldn’t be destroyed get destroyed, card effects don’t activate (especially flip effects), and a few freezes in the duel that require the app to be hard restarted to unfreeze (which exits the duel).
