Beware their CORRUPT upgrade process!
I bought this app and it worked fine. Then I started receiving emails and popups constantly about upgrading to “yummy ftp pro,” eventually I gave in because the pop-ups were a nuisance, but the program worked fine. SO I spent $10 to upgrade, went to the website and downloaded the pro version. After this I started receiving constant popups about “migrating to the app store version.” These popups block your screen and force you to interact with them before attending to your business, which was indeed annoying. So eventually I spend the $5 and “migrated to the mac app store version.” So far I have spent $25 on this product. AT THIS POINT I WENT TO THE APP STORE AND DOWNLOADED THE PRO VERSION, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE DUE TO THE “MIGRATION,” YET IT CHARGED ME $30 FOR MAC APP. WHEN INFORMED OF THIS, YUMMY REFUNDED ME THE 5$ FOR THE MIGRATION, LEAVING ME AT A TOTAL $55 SPENT FOR A $30 APP. Save yourself from a thousand popups and emails and purchase Transmit or Cyberduck instead...
Chase, I'm sorry to see it's come to this..
As I explained in my emails to you, there isn't such a thing as a migration to the App Store version - Apple does not provide the means to do that. You mistakenly purchased a side-grade, which allows you to migrate from the App Store version to the regular license, thinking it would give you an App Store version.
As I also explained, I cannot refund App Store purchases - only Apple can do that and you need to contact them directly for this.
Lastly to be clear, I have in fact refunded the $10 upgrade from Lite to Pro as well as the $5 cross-grade that you purchased by mistake.
I have tried several FTP applications over the years and I’ve grown to really like and appreciate this one. It’s simple, easy to use, and reliable. It’s exactly what I was looking for in an FTP application and I highly recommend it! I’m not sure what the Pro version has that this version lacks, but I haven’t noticed anything lacking in the Lite version so I’ve never felt compelled to pay for the Pro version.
Thanks for the review :)
Just to be clear, the list of 20+ features that are missing from Lite are listed at the bottom of its home page on our website:
This app works fine for the 4 websites that I maintain. Recently had a problem with windows being limited to one, but the developer fixed the problem in the recent update. Good for the price. Uploads fast.
Only just seen this today...I wish you'd emailed me! I can understand your frustration and venting on here though, but it's actually only meant to show that message in the newer direct download version which is only available from my website. So it's basically a bug, and not only that - the App Store doesn't provide any way to upgrade to Yummy FTP Pro directly and it's also actually against App Store rules to put up such an alert, so how this got past the Apple Review Team is beyond me... normally this sort of thing would be picked up. Anyway, I'll get it fixed up asap, but I'm guessing I've already lost you as a customer. I apologise for the trouble :(
