Bug fixes and performance improvements
App works ok, scale itself can be buggy
The Yunmai app works as expected. At one point they tried to remove features and make them available through subscription, but they wisely chose to backtrack on that. Before that happened, you used to be able to see both your weight and body fat percentages at the same time on the screen. Now the measurements show on separate screens which is a little frustrating, but I can live with it.
The scale itself likes to lock up from time to time while measuring body fat. It will work on it for a bit and then freeze up. I haven’t found a sure fire way of fixing that. Sometimes I just have to sync it with the app. Sometimes I need to push on the scale so it starts to weigh and then take my foot off before it finishes so that the measured weight goes back down to zero. Then I can weigh/measure myself for real. Other times I have to take the batteries out to reset it. So the app gets four stars while the scale gets 2.5.

Scale works well but app needs improvement
The smart scale itself seems to work well, providing you with 10 different measurements which can be helpful depending on what kind of shape you are trying to get into.
However, the app lacks many features that come standard in the apps of similar smart scales. The tracking graph feature only shows changes in total weight and body fat%. It would be more helpful if you could see changes in muscle mass, BMI, and even water. Again, all of these charts come standard in the apps of competitors.
Reading the user’s heart rate and physical activity (like the number of steps taken) from Apple Health would allow for an even more detailed analysis of weight loss/gain trends.
Also, will any of the Premium MyFit Tracker VIP features from the old app be coming to this one? I’d like an option to record body measurements and monitor those changes on a graph as well.
If you weigh yourself once and then again within many minutes (say, after offloading a good amount of liquid or solid waste or after undressing), the scale settles on the exact same reading as the first! As subsequent readings are being made, they look like they will be lower, as they should be—the value bounces around a lower value for a short time—but it suddenly jumps right back to the initial reading and that’s final. The exact same weight as the first time is reported to the iPhone to a precision of .01 pounds! IMO that’s fraudulent behavior (not to mention frustrating), with the scale pretending to be more accurate and reliable than it is. The scale is calibrated and sits flat on tile. It’s always behaved like this since I bought it years ago.
I usually have to moisten the bottoms of my feet to get a body fat reading. Not sure it’s at all accurate either.
Hi Biox, I am sorry the inconvenience that brought to you.
Your scale may also need to be recalibrated. To recalibrate, kindly step on and off the scale quickly. Your scale will display '0.0' indicating the calibration is complete. If the scale is moved, you will need to repeat this step.
We highly recommend placing the scale on a hard and flat surface, such as tile, to receive accurate measurements.
