Good, but with problems
The artwork of this game is interesting, and peaceful in a way. Play is a straightforward matrix logic game, that is, you deduce which cells to fill in a given matrix. Numbers above and beside each column and row are your clues. Solving the puzzles, I believe, helps kids learn how to think in a powerful and useful manner, helps the old keep their minds active and involved. For those in-between, those caring for the kids and oldsters, trying to earn a living, maybe even getting ahead a bit, and all else that's involved in the ages between the old and the young, well… lets be kind and gentle and admit up front that this game will probably drive them bonkers. ;-))) Interesting, pretty, engrossing, with great ability to be frustrating until you buckle down and learn how to think logically, this game should keep everyone happily involved.
That said, I gave the game a rating of three (3) stars because it has, to me, "features" that defeat the purpose of the game.
1) No scores listings. This may be very Zen, but why rate performance if you don't allow access to that information? A major part of learning is being able to keep track of progress—or otherwise… and try to improve performance.
2) Extremely difficult to replay problematical puzzles. Almost impossible to find any given puzzle, you have nothing that shows which games you did well on and which caused you trouble.
3) Dragging to select squares is very iffy, and vastly frustrating. if the cursor touches either line in the direction of travel, you have to start over. Mac people are used to the mac understanding that if you're headed in that particular direction, it doesn't matter if you're inside or outside the borderlines.
This is a nicely programed game that can be fun and educational, and frustrating and anti-educational.
