Description

MEET THE ZOMBIES
These undead trash-munchers are tired of being misunderstood by their neighbors. They’re just your average slowly decomposing suburbanites who want to keep up with the Joneses, not eat them.

It is up to you to help these Zombies achieve the suburban dream, fight off angry mobs of the living and feed their craving for gaaaaarbage.

FIGHT TO THE RE-DEATH
Use humorous traps and Zombie-styled weapons to fight hordes of angry human neighbors who want to drive you out of town.
- Fend off attackers with screams, burps, slime letters and even more wretched weapons.
- Trick enemies with stash-o’-cash, zombie-in-a-box, piñata and other treacherous traps.

ZOMBIEBURBZ IS ZOMBIE POWERED
ZombieBurbz is designed to be played with each episode's special deluxe toy figure. This figure allows you to control your zombie’s position in the game as well as its orientation when firing at enemies. See www.appgear.com for more details.

DON’T HAVE A ZOMBIE?
No Zombie, no problem. You can still play the demo version to find out what makes ZombieBurbz so infectious. After you’ve beaten the first 3 levels, head over to the website to learn how you can unlock new chapters and levels to feed your craving for more undead action.

WORKS, but not clear how to make it work, then not that fun

Only ONE of the figures you get is actually a playable "Deluxe Zombie Figure" and you must remove the protective shell from the bottom to expose the little contact points.
As for the wrong figure error, each Deluxe Zombie Figure is only compatible with ONE episode. You must use the arrows on the sides of the screen to select which ever episode is for the Deluxe Figure you have. Then tap unlock, place the figure on the target, and finally trace the circle clockwise. Congratulations, you have unlocked one of the four chapters and made it farther than most people suckered into buying this.
Avenue -> Needs business man zombie
Services -> Needs trash man zombie
Diner -> Needs waitress zombie
High School -> Needs School girl zombie

As for the game play. When everything is working perfectly, the game is just a mediocre. Once you get enough points to buy enough good traps and weapons, it's a passable Plants vs. Zombies like game. You place traps on the grid to stop the advancing humans. Your control the zombie with your Deluxe Figure and tap the various attack buttons to try and take down the humans. Plants vs. Zombies is a MUCH better game, but most people just bought the figures and are now stuck with this "free" game that feels like it is just an afterthought attached to what seemed like a great gimmick.

Meh

I bought the figurines at the 99 cent store, and frankly that is ALL they are worth. I actually just got them for the figurines, but did try the app and it is very user unfriendly. The box DOES say that only one zombie is a deluxe, playable, zombie, and a little logic and detail orientation go a long way, meaning: each zombie is set up for their own "scene" (waitress: diner, kid: high school, etc). There aren't any tips regarding how to play, so it's pretty much sink or swim, and you either have the patience to figure it out, or give up and the zombies are just little collectibles (which is what I bought them for). All in all, this app seems to have been created by amateurs who used this as their class project. It has potential, but is definitely not there yet.

It works...

It just isn't that good. Read the other reviews if you can't get it to work, there are a lot of good tips. But honestly it wasn't that hard to figure out. My issue is 10 bucks for four figures... But only one of them actually works. So it's forty bucks for the whole game, only it really isn't that great a game. I get it that developers are trying to figure out how to make money with apps since people seem to refuse to pay and only play the freebies. But the quality of this game just isn't there. I beat the 16 levels for my figure in under an hour, so now I have to buy more figures or buy something else. Guess which one I'm doing.
