About KANKAKU PIERO

Formed in 2013, Japanese rock band kankakupiero’s unusual name was inspired by the Kōtarō Isaka novel Jūryoku Piero. ∙ In 2016, “Haikei, Itsukanokimihe” was tapped as the theme song of popular TV drama We’re Millennials. Got a Problem? after director Nobuo Mizuta saw one of the band’s music videos. ∙ Although kankakupiero was offered multiple major-label deals, in 2017 the band chose to secure investment and formalize their own JIJI imprint in order to stay independent. ∙ Iroirotoiro, their first full-length album, arrived in 2018 and cracked the Top 20 on the Japanese charts. ∙ They have twice contributed theme music to the anime series Black Clover, and their first theme, “Harukamirai,” is the group’s most popular song.
