About Wally Warning

A diverse singer/songwriter who freely roams from one genre to another, Wally Warning was born in Aruba, where he learned to play the four-string guitar known as the cuatro. At the age of 17 he moved to Europe and recorded "The World Needs Love," an early-'80s hit in his new home, Holland. In 1984 he landed a dance club hit with "Land of Hunger," but he then traded his solo career for a chance to play bass in the touring bands of Sam & Dave and Lightnin' Hopkins. After touring with these artists he landed in Munich, Germany, and joined a few bands before returning to a solo career, this time playing reggae that ranged from roots to pop. In 2007 his career skyrocketed when his joyous and infectious single "No Monkey" became a big summer hit in both Austria and Germany. No Monkey the album appeared on the Groove Attack label in August of that year. ~ David Jeffries
