About Davisson Brothers Band

Blending bluegrass, Southern rock, and country into a refreshing and often progressive acoustic sound, the Davisson Brothers Band draw from their Appalachian heritage and a wide array of musical influences including Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Del McCoury, and Dickey Betts. Raised in the hills of West Virginia, they spent over a decade honing their rootsy blend of old- and new-world country before issuing their eponymous debut in 2009. The band was founded by brothers Donnie Davisson (lead vocals and guitar) and Chris Davisson (lead and slide guitar) in Harrison County, West Virginia. Along with their cousin, bassist Sammy Davisson, the siblings were playing gigs with their father and uncle's band before they were even out of junior high school. When childhood friend and drummer Aaron Regester joined up, the lineup for the Davisson Brothers Band was set. Fifteen years of steady touring helped them build a solid fan base in the Eastern U.S. Their debut album, the self-titled Davisson Brothers Band, was released in 2009 on Yell Records, and yielded the single "Foot Stompin'," which cracked the Top 100 on the Billboard country chart -- the LP peaked at number 205 on the Heatseekers chart. Having established themselves as a band on the rise, the Davisson Brothers Band began carving out a name for themselves in the South, releasing a pair of rousing singles ("Country Just Like Me" and "Jesse James"), as well as providing the theme song for ESPN commentator John Kruk's Baseball Tonight and opening their own music venue with West Virginia Mountaineers football legend and NFL player Owen Schmitt. In 2016, Sammy Davisson left the band to embark on a solo career, heralding the arrival of new bass player Russell Reppert, who had played with the group in one of its earliest incarnations. After relocating to Nashville, the Davisson Brothers Band teamed up with the Erv Woolsey Management Company and Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Stegall to begin work on their sophomore long-player. The resulting Fighter, which featured the fiery single "Po Boyz," was released in 2018 via Dreamline Records. ~ Steve Leggett
