About Absofacto

Absofacto is the solo project of Michigan-based songwriter/producer Jonathan Visger. Visger has been a fixture in the Michigan indie rock scene since 2003, when he formed the experimental pop band Mason Proper in the Northern Michigan town of Alpena. The band eventually relocated to the Ann Arbor area, where they released two albums on New York's Dovecote Records. In 2008, Visger began to record his solo work under the moniker Absofacto, self-releasing singles and EPs via Bandcamp and on his own website. Pairing his intelligent art pop with distinctive visual images from Detroit design firm Silent Giants, Visger created a unique and definitive brand for his music. In 2011, the singles were compiled into a full-length release titled Sinking Islands. The [Loners] EP followed in June of 2013. He self-released a series of stand-alone singles over the next few years, including "History Books" and "Dissolve," and in early 2017 he was featured on the song "Trouble" by New York EDM duo the Knocks. His own songs "Light Outside" and "Endless Summer" followed later that year. ~ Timothy Monger
