Along with producing, writing songs for Carl Barât and Mark Ronson, and engaging in some artier endeavors (like sound installations for galleries and helping compose the music for a ballet titled Carbon Life), he struck gold when he co-wrote Bruno Mars' "Grenade," which climbed the charts to number one and earned a Song of the Year Grammy nomination. Attempting a more expansive, experimental sound for his debut solo outing, 2013's Descender, Wyatt enlisted the help of guest indie musicians from the Libertines, Tortoise, and Interpol, as well as a a 75-piece orchestra to contribute to the album.
