About Barrie

Merging cloud-streaked dream pop and lo-fi indie electronica, Brooklyn five-piece Barrie are named for main songwriter Barrie Lindsay. The group's debut EP, Singles, saw release in October of 2018.

Most members of Barrie met via online radio station The Lot Radio in Brooklyn. Lindsay, who had studied music theory and composition at Wesleyan University and was releasing solo music, eventually teamed up with station DJs Noah Prebish (guitar/synths) and Spurge (keyboards). They added London, England native Dom (Is Tropical, DOM) on drums, and São Paulo transplant Sabine rounded out the lineup on bass. The quintet soon found a home at Winspear and got attention in the indie music press for their debut single, "Canyons," released in early 2018. Consisting of "Canyons," two more original songs, and two remixes, the EP Singles was released on digital, vinyl, and cassette formats in October. Barrie opened shows in the New York area for Yelle the following month.
