Pop-R&B artist Bernard Flowers is from Memphis, Tennessee, where he started to rap as a teenager. He considered teaching as a profession but was ultimately drawn to the music industry as a singer and songwriter. At the age of 20 he moved to Atlanta, driven to develop his talent and, in the process, get noticed. Although geography wasn't an obvious factor, he was eventually invited to audition in New York for immensely successful songwriter and producer L.A. Reid, CEO of major label Epic. Nothing came of that meeting. Months later, Reid requested another visit, and it led to a recording contract. In April 2016, Flowers made his Epic debut with the sleek, yearning ballad "This Feeling." ~ Andy Kellman
