The Bloody Hollies

About The Bloody Hollies

Buffalo, New York's fiery rock trio the Bloody Hollies mix punk, garage rock, rockabilly, and surf into a combustive and compulsively listenable sound of their own. Singer/guitarist Wesley Doyle, drummer Mike Argento, and bassist Nick, all former art school students, started the band in 2000 as a response to all of the mopey music that was passing for rock at the time. By 2002, they had been gigging locally for some time, released their debut album, Got It Where It Counts!, on Garage Pop Records, and were named Buffalo's "Top New Original Band" by a local paper. The Bloody Hollies then signed a deal with Sympathy for the Record Industry and released their second album, Fire at Will, in fall 2003. After this Doyle relocated to San Diego, California, revamped the lineup (bringing in guitarist Joey Horgen and drummer Matt Bennett), and also switched to Alive Records for 2005's If Footmen Tire You... and 2007's Who to Trust, Who to Kill, Who to Love, which featured glam rock- and hard rock-inspired moves as well as their fiery brand of garage rock. For 2011's Yours Until the Bitter End, bassist Erik Norgaard was added to the fold. ~ Heather Phares
