About Cannabis Club ATL
Southern hip-hop group Cannabis Club ATL (Alien-Type-Life) were founded in 2010 in Decatur, Georgia by Legendary Fruitman. Fellow Georgians Trapacana and N.I.L.E. joined the lineup, and all had an early start in music. Trapacana was born in Frankfurt, Germany but was raised in Columbus, Georgia. He started performing as a teenager, and was influenced by Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and James Brown. N.I.L.E. also resided in Columbus, and began performing cover versions of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Crucial Conflict when he was nine at the East Columbus Boys Club talent shows. MANAL was the only member not to have roots in Georgia, as she was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, but much like her bandmates, her musical life began at an early age. She began writing songs at 14, and performed at Sydney's Arab festivals, singing pop hits and traditional Arab songs.
The group released The Hellraiser in 2016, and the mixtape was produced by Venom. Just a year later, Cannabis Club ATL returned with "Boomin," a collaborative single with producer Metro Boomin (Kanye West, Future). The single was followed by the full-length album Retro Boomin, which was also produced by Metro Boomin.
