About Chris Gill

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The day my father took me to my first guitar lesson will stay in my memory forever. It felt so scary, but in a good way, like I knew this was going to lead me somewhere much bigger one day. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles Rod Stewart, Gasoline Alley Various Artists, Walk the Line (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Each one of these albums represents a very different time in musical history but they all have one thing in common, they were written by fantastic Singer Song Writers. I think I learned a lot about how important it is to have such belief in yourself. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Goodbye” This song was a way of telling someone who had treat me very badly that I dont need their approval anymore. It gave me a sense of freedom like I'd finally escaped from the chains. Learning to express myself so powerfully really helped my songwriting. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2022 I won the Soundwaves Music Competition in the UK, which gave me a new found belief that people out there will support me in my music career, as long as I have the commitment to keep expressing myself so that others can relate. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My ultimate goal is sign with a label some day, the reason being that they can provide me with the tools to reach more people effectively, and performing my own songs to large audiences is why I began writing music in the first place.
