About Christie Cook

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 4, my mom would play the piano surrounded by my brothers and sisters who either played an instrument or danced. I was too young to play anything so my mom handed me a wooden spoon and a pan. I was the drummer and we made a joyful noise! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Christie Cook, Dia Maith: Celtic Hymns and Tunes Christie Cook, Every Good Thing Christie Cook, Fair Breeze I like Dia Maith because the Celtic fiddle and finger style guitar trade melodies back and forth; the tunes are uplifting and yet sometimes pensive. Fair Breeze and Every Good Thing reveal my faith through storytelling and are more folk in style. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Fair Breeze” Fair Breeze holds a special place in my heart, as it was born from a vivid dream I had. With the musical talents of Steve Schuch (nightheron.com) and David Coffin (Davidcoffin.com) the song won "Best Celtic Song" at the Just Plain Folk Awards 2002. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Singing at a prison was a bit daunting. As I began to sing, the inmates grew very quiet, attentive, and seemed to hang on every word. Though my intention was to bless them, I left feeling they had blessed me more. I then wrote "Come Great Shepherd". Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope to do living room concerts as I've been out of pocket for some time. I have a dream to travel to Ireland and Scotland one day and perhaps do a few small concerts there. My heart genuinely just wants to point people to Christ through my music.
