About Daniel Lozakovich

Praised for his expressive tone, exemplary technique, and youthful artistic maturity, prize-winning violinist Daniel Lozakovich was born in Stockholm in 2001. He took up his instrument at age six, made his solo debut with Vladimir Spivakov’s Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra in 2010, and began attending the Karlsruhe University of Music in Germany in 2012. Lozakovich became Deutsche Grammophon’s youngest recording artist at age 15 and released his debut album in 2018, wowing listeners with pure and tender renditions of Bach’s two violin concertos with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and his monumental Partita No. 2. With Spivakov and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, Lozakovich recorded Tchaikovsky’s demanding Violin Concerto on 2019’s None but the Lonely Heart, deftly navigating the composer’s interwoven folk tunes and melancholy title song on his Stradivarius. An accomplished recitalist and festival favorite by 2021, Lozakovich released that year his highly regarded version of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto—the concerto he considers the greatest of all—in celebration of the composer’s 250th birthday.
