About David Deveau
American pianist David Deveau was a student of Russell Sherman, Beveridge Webster, Veronica Jochum, Richard Goode, and Gaby Casadesus. He received his Master's degree from the Juilliard School of Music, and gave his debut recital at Alice Tully Hall in 1982. He has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, and the Qingdao Symphony. He has been an active participant in chamber music performances with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, the Juilliard String Quartet, the Kronos Quartet, the Jacques Thibaud String Trio, Carol Wincenc, Malcolm Lowe, Andres Cardenes, William Preucil, Joseph Silverstein, Joel Smirnoff, and many other artists. With a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary works, Deveau has given recitals and master classes in the United States, Canada, and China, and toured Japan with clarinetist Richard Stoltzman. Deveau concluded 22 years of service as artistic director of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival in 2017. He has recorded for Artek, Steinway & Sons, and Centaur Records.
