A rare German entry into the doom metal field, Ludwigsburg's Doomshine formed in 2003 and followed their "Shining in Solitude" demo with a debut album entitled Thy Kingdoom Come the very next year, drawing immediate comparisons to genre purists like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus. Founded by guitarist Sven Podgurski following a pair of failed attempts in the power metal arena with former bands Spiral Tower and Tragedy Divine, Doomshine also features Tim Holz (vocals/guitar), Carsten Fisch (bass), and Markus Schlaps (drums). ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
