Tell us why you chose this song. “This Side or the Other” I wrote this on an out-of-tune piano in a cabin in the woods of New Hampshire. Its about finding empathy and understanding for universal human struggles in dark times, and finding the strength and agency to persevere no matter how hard it may be. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I wrote "What A Beautiful Morning!" in direct response to the cynical American nostalgia of the Trump campaign. The song and music video were featured in a protest compilation alongside Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M., and more, which was a true honor.
