About El Guero

Specializing in duranguense music, El Guero y Su Banda Centenario are a regional Mexican act based in San Antonio, Texas. The bandleader, El Guero, was born Jorge Hernández in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He moved to San Antonio in 2004 and embarked on a recording career with the label A.R.C. Discos. His full-length debut album, Para Mis Compás (2004), includes a couple songs written by his uncle, the esteemed songwriter Ramón González Mora, who is best known for his work with Conjunto Primavera, among others. Subsequent El Guero y Su Banda Centenario album releases include El Amigo de Tus Penas (2005), Una Vez Mas (2006), Cumbias y Polkas (2007), and Antes y Despues (2008). ~ Jason Birchmeier
