Born Elyar Afshari in 1995 in Ealing, West London to an English mother and an Azerbaijani father, this pop-focused artist — whose R&B-tinged solo studio material drew comparisons to both Justin Bieber and Conor Maynard — had achieved a U.K. Top Five single before he'd reached the age of 19. He was initially part of the pop-punk trio Just Me Again, who took a similar sonic approach to that taken by acts such as McFly and Busted, and this band swiftly moved from a local gig at north London's The Garage to a national tour supporting You Me at Six in 2010. By the end of 2012, Just Me Again had split and Fox began to upload solo performances to YouTube which were well-received. Although Polydor showed an early interest in Fox, it was RCA who eventually released his debut single, "Do It All Over Again," in January 2014 and it hit the U.K. charts while he prepared an album with the help of Karen Poole and Wayne Hector, among others.
