Boston's Gentlemen Hall make lighthearted and catchy dance-oriented indie pop. Formed in 2008 while the members were attending college, Gentlemen Hall centers around lead singer/guitarist Gavin Merlot, keyboardist Bradford Alderman, vocalist/guitarist Cobi Mike, bassist Rory Given, drummer Phil Boucher, and flutist Seth Hachen. Initially, Gentlemen Hall built a strong local following by playing clubs, frat houses, and basement parties. Their debut EP, 2010's Give Us Roots, Give Us Wings and 2011's When We All Disappear, garnered heavy local radio play and helped launch the band nationally. In 2011, they made their national television debut performing at the Billboard Music Awards. In 2013, the band's single, "Sail Into the Sun," was used in several television ads for Target and Samsung.
